Health Care for Christian Scientists, an Introduction

One of the issues that comes regularly among my (former-Christian Science friends is our complete ignorance about all things “health care” related. All most of us know about doctors, medicine, vaccinations, and prescription and non-prescription medication is that we didn’t partake of them when we were younger.

I am NOT an expert, but I’ve had my share of encounters with the medical community in the last few years (some more positive than others), so I’m going to compile my collected knowledge (with the help of my husband, and the power of the internet’s more reliable resources) in a series of occasional posts: Health Care for Christian Scientists which will be tagged as Christian Science Health Care for convenience.

Topics I hope to include are:

  • Doctors – which ones you “need”
  • Medicine Cabinets – what to stock & why
  • Vaccinations
  • Women’s health – this will likely be a list of resources
  • Children’s health
  • Basic first aid
  • A reliable resource list

Some of these may over-lap so I will do my best to cross-post and tag as best as possible.

If there are any topics I’m missing, or that you would like me to address, please leave a comment, or e-mail me at: kat (dot) at (dot) kindism (at) gmail (dot) com

Please remember, this is intended to offer people support, ideas, and resources. It is not in any way intended to be a substitute for medical advice or care. Please see a health care professional if you have concerns, especially if your concern is serious!

Update: There is now a dedicated page: Christian Science Guide to Health Care where all this will be chronicled as well
