Souls, Quantum Physics & the Universe

From the Daily Mail this morning: Near-death experiences occur when the soul leaves the nervous system and enters the universe, claim two quantum physics experts

Thus it is held that our souls are more than the interaction of neurons in the brain. They are in fact constructed from the very fabric of the universe – and may have existed since the beginning of time.

The concept is similar to the Buddhist and Hindu belief that consciousness is an integral part of the universe – and indeed that it is really all there may be, a position similar to Western philosophical idealism.

With these beliefs, Dr Hameroff holds that in a near-death experience the microtubules lose their quantum state, but the information within them is not destroyed. Instead it merely leaves the body and returns to the cosmos.

I like the idea we are all part of the Universe. For perspective on the Universe, I offer Yakko’s Universe Song!

    Way cool!
My most recent thought about God is that maybe God is the collective consciousness of Good we all share – and that, together, we maintain it and make it grow, and that the Love we create here together is what remains of us after we’re gone – that it’s a part of the wave that’s moving creation closer to Good, God. I know. I am so very weird.

    Cute video!

Near death experiences are an interesting subject that I have read about for sometime now. A lot of different stories from people in those similar situations!
