Our times ask for a more discovery oriented finding about God, versus a faith-only basis of believing. Our hyped-up scientific age should give a nod to the discovery process instead of worrying asking for evidence shows disbelief.
Mary Baker Eddy says that Christian Science refers to the laws of God and laws of Good. So how much effort do we put into discovering the First Cause behind these laws? The pursuit of God as a scientific God or scientific living Principle should be appealing to the educated class.
